수호지
중국 4대 기서 중의 하나인 수호지는 수령인 송강을 중심으로 108명의 호걸들이 양산 산록 호숫가의 양산박이라는 산채에서, 조정의 부패와 관료의 비행에 맞서는 이야기이다. 독창적인 그림체로, 우리 만화의 새로운 장을 여는 동시에 만화가 단순한 아동용 오락물이 아니라 엄연한 하나의 장르임을 일깨워준 고우영이 1973년 일간스포츠에 연재하기 시작했지만 사정에 의해 절필하게 되었다. 일간스포츠 연재 당시 장사 무송의 형 ‘무대(武大)’의 캐릭터는 지금까지 한국 만화가 창조한 캐릭터 중 가장 뛰어난 작품으로 평가받는다. 1975년경 서울시내 각 대학에는 ‘무대 팬클럽’이 생겨날 정도였다.
