: 고우영 만화가 타계 10주기 추모展
고우영 만화가 타계 10주기를 맞은 2015년에 열린 <아버지 고우영>전은, 한국을 대표하는 만화가 고우영의 업적을 기리는 동시에, 만화가가 아닌 한 가장으로서의 고우영을 바라보고자 한 전시이다.
대중적 인기를 누렸던 만화가였지만, 결코 안정적이지 않았던 직업적 현실 속에서 그는 쉼 없이 연재를 이어가야 했던 한 사람의 아버지였다. 이 전시는 화려한 작품 세계의 이면에 존재했던 ‘가족을 책임진 인간 고우영’의 삶에 주목하며, 창작자 이전에 아버지로 살아온 그의 시간을 조용히 되짚는다. <아버지 고우영>전은 위대한 만화가의 초상을 넘어, 시대와 가족 속에서 묵묵히 삶을 이어간 한 인간의 얼굴을 통해 고우영을 다시 기억하는 자리였다.

10th Anniversary Memorial Exhibition
Held in 2015 to mark the 10th anniversary of Ko Woo Young’s passing, Father, Ko Woo Young sought to honor his achievements not only as a celebrated cartoonist, but also to view him from the perspective of a father and head of a family.
Although he was a highly popular cartoonist, the profession itself was far from stable, requiring him to serialize continuously without rest. This exhibition focused on the life of Ko Woo Young as a human being who carried the responsibility of supporting his family, shedding light on the time he lived not merely as a creator, but as a father.
Moving beyond the portrait of a great cartoonist, Father, Ko Woo Young offered a quiet reflection on the face of a man who lived diligently within his family and his era, inviting audiences to remember Ko Woo Young anew.
